Service Technician
Purpose of job:
Responsible for quality vehicle repairs. Job performance is measured by individual productivity, efficiency, and proficiency and customer satisfaction. And other duties assigned by management
Essential job functions:
1. Maintain technical training depending on career level, determined by Service Manager
2. Build positive team environment in a friendly, sincere manner
3. Must be organized and able to multi-task under stressful conditions
4. Insures RO accuracy. Verifying tech notes are clear and concise with minimum complaint, cause and corrections noted. Looks for vehicle needs and makes customer recommendations on required maintenance or repairs.
5. Meets job time schedule and customer promise times
6. Communicates with service advisors and techs when appropriate or necessary
7. Must be cooperative, courteous, helpful, and pleasant to assure an efficient and smooth processing of transactions in a non-hostile work environment.
8. Must follow Company safety policies and practices, and immediately report any and all accidents to a manager / supervisor.
9. Other duties as assigned by management
Work Performance
1. Meet individual minimum performance standards:
Efficiency = Flat Rate Time / Actual Time (Guide = 135%)
Productivity = Actual Time / Available Time (Guide = 87.5%)
Proficiency = Flat Rate Time / Available Time (Guide = 133.3%)
2. Maintain customer satisfaction scores at or above national averages.
Current CSI goals are: Honda 92% / Acura 95%
3. Account for all service related documentation
4. Keep work areas clean, neat and organized
5. Operate dealership and manufacturer computer systems
6. Abide by all dealership and manufacturer policies and procedures.
7. Comply with all federal, state and local regulations that affect department operations.
8. Maintain and remain current on all manufacturer required training and certification programs.
9. Prompt and dependable attendance.
