For the past five years, Continental Subaru has proudly sponsored the annual Alaska Ski for Women held every Superbowl Sunday. The Alaska Ski for women event is North America’s largest women-only cross-country ski event.
Women of all ages and of all abilities, get together every year and Nordic ski approximately 2.4 miles (4k) –some in very colorful costumes – while raising money for local non-profit organizations that help stop the cycle of domestic abuse against women and children.
Over the years, the race participants; sponsors and volunteers have been able to raise over $1M to groups that actively work to improve women’s lives in Alaska.
On Sunday, February 2, 2015, over 800 women, children and volunteers braved the cold and skied the 4K Kincaid course all in good spirits knowing they are making a difference in another’s life.
It is Continental Subaru’s intention to continue to support this very worthwhile event for many more years to come.
